OSI - Model(Networking)

OSI - Open System Interconnections Model.It define the network frame to implement protocol of seven layer.

OSI Layer Diagram

Application Layer - This is top most layer of the OSI Model,It provides user interference. Example - Facebook messenger, G-talk, Web browser and Mail Services.

Presentation layer - This is second layer of the OSI model, it is used to present the data to the application layer in accurate and well defined format.Example of Presentation layer - Music format - MP3, Picture format - jpeg,png and jpg etc.

Session Layer - It create and manage the session of number of tabs in browser with the help of Port number.  

Transport Layer - This layer provide host-to-host communication services for applications.

 

Network Layer - This layer is to deliver packets from source to destination across multiple links (networks). 

 

Data Link Layer - Main functions of the data link layer are to deal with transmission errors, regulate the flow of data, and provide a well-defined interface to the network layer.

Physical layer - cables and connectors,Repeaters are used to generate the electrical signals.
